Construction Site Supervisor
Looking for a working carpenter experienced in residential, commercial and industrial construction to supervise employees and subs on job site. Requirements: • Minimum of 7 years in carpentry, 2 of which were supervisory • Communication skills to regularly report project status to off-site Operations Manager, site engineers and officials • Leadership skills to motivate and retain on-site workers • Ability to read and interpret blue prints and shop drawings • Skilled at performing the following, but not limited to: carpentry (layout, foundations, framing and finishing), drywall, tile work, painting, etc. • Own basic PPE (hard hat, safety boots, safety glasses) • Own basic tools (tool belt, squares, hammer, tape measure, etc) • Ability to lift over 45 lbs (20kg) • Physically fit to work outdoors in all weather conditions • Bilingual – English / French Duties: • Oversee and ensure that all health and safety rules, policies and procedures are followed at all times • Uphold high quality standards • Coordinate daily tasks according to priorities and plans, adjusting as necessary due to weather, supply delivery and personnel • Delegate responsibilities and individual projects to the crew and subs • Resolve conflicts or miscommunication that may happen on-site, quickly and amicably • Work as part of the team to bring the job from start to finish on time and within budget • Work independently to complete daily tasks • Practice good housekeeping discipline on the job to ensure a safe, noncluttered workplace Considered an asset: • Ability to work at heights • Elevated work platform ticket • Valid G Ontario license • Willingness to work out of town Pay rate will reflect experience and ability.
