We are looking for friendly and experienced Grocery/Stock Clerks to receive stock, stock product on shelves and display areas, order stock, bag, box and wrap items for customers, and perform cleaning duties accurately and efficiently in accordance with established policies and procedures. Duties and responsibilities of the Grocery/Stock Clerk will include greeting customers when within range and offering assistance with their shopping, maintaining clean well-organized storage spaces, ensuring proper shelf management and signage, and assisting cashiers during busy periods. The successful candidate will play a fundamental role in achieving our customer satisfaction and revenue growth objectives. Responsibilities • Bag, box or parcel purchases for customers, for shipment or delivery • Carry customer's purchases to parking lot and pack orders in customers' vehicles • Obtain articles for customers from shelf or stockroom • Direct customers to location of articles sought • Unpack products received by store and count, weigh or sort items • Order stock • Record incoming stock • Stock shelves and display areas • Keep stock clean and in order • Price items using stamp, stickers, shelf tags, and/or signs according to price list and policy • Attach protective devices to products to protect against shoplifting • Fill mail or electronic orders from warehouse stock • Perform general cleaning duties (i.e. sweeping, mopping floors, clean bathrooms, clean shelves) • Operate computer for electronic commerce transactions • Operate cash register/POS • Operate palette jack • Order picking • Face product on shelves • Make sales referrals, cross-sell products and introduce new ones • Resolve customer complaints with a positive attitude, guide them and provide relevant information • Maintain clean, well organized storage rooms • Ensure inventory control procedures for high theft items such as tobacco and lottery are followed • Stay customer focused and deal pleasantly to nurture an excellent customer experience • Collaborate with other stock clerks and store staff Requirements • Proven working experience in a retail stocking position, 1 year minimum • Strong communication and time management skills • Highly customer satisfaction-oriented • High attention to detail • Problem solving and decision-making skills • Flexible, responsible, reliable and trustworthy • High attention to cleanliness and safety • Sales and merchandising skills • Fluent English • Lifting and moving up to 50 pounds with frequent balancing, reaching, handling, pushing, pulling, grasping, lifting, standing (95% of the work shift), seeing, walking the entire shift • High school diploma, food safety training, WHMIS 2015, basic first aid and CPR training, are considered assets
