Senior Analyst, Data Services
Based out of the BCLC head office in Kamloops, BC, the objective of the Senior Analyst, Data Services role is to manage and execute the delivery of professional technical services and solutions to the organization. This role will be responsible for the development and implementation of data warehouse and business intelligence software solutions. This role will proactively resolve complex technical issues and use innovative thinking by making recommendations for new approaches to technical work and broader issues resolution. The Senior Analyst, Data Services role acts as a consultative partner by providing expertise, analysis and advice to internal stakeholders within BCLC, as well as external to the organization to enable the business to provide technical products and services efficiently and effectively. Our Kamloops office has a subsidized onsite cafeteria, free parking and an onsite gym. Key Accountabilities: Produce Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence solutions assets including: requirements review and translation, detailed technical specifications, input into overall architecture considerations, data modeling, development of required data warehouse & OLAP cube objects, lead consultation to QA activities, and implementation. Ensure a stable analytics infrastructure by being a strong advocate and lead supporter of best practices for the corporation’s analytics data asset, business intelligence capabilities, and technical platform. Provide input to overall data warehouse and business intelligence strategies. May act as a technical lead on assigned projects. Develop required project document artifacts and communicate to key stakeholders ensuring clarity and awareness of deliverables. Build operational and tactical relationships with other department personnel to gather and exchange ideas regarding data warehouse and business intelligence delivery and overall practices. Minimum Required Qualifications: Education and Experience University degree in a relevant discipline or a two-year college diploma supplemented by industry recognized professional courses. 3 - 5 years progressively responsible experience in a programming/analysis environment, with at least three years at a programmer/analyst level. Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered. Technical Requirements Demonstrated understanding of a broad Corporate Performance Management (CPM) – data warehousing / business intelligence program. Strong data warehousing technical skills and abilities including: multi-dimensional modeling, data management procedure development, complex report development, and project management. SQL database object development and data manipulation. Experience developing software solutions using the IBM Cognos suite of Data Warehousing / Business Intelligence software offerings such as Data Manager, Transformer, and Report Studio. Ralph Kimball methodology development experience considered a plus. Microsoft Windows systems, system administration, would be an asset. Excellent interpersonal skills.
