Job Duties As part of a project team, the Technical Writer will be responsible for the development, implementation and administration of AKA’s documentation strategies for multiple projects. The incumbent will be responsible for defining documentation requirements, determining and managing schedules, and researching, writing, producing and maintaining technical documentation. The incumbent will ensure that Documentation projects are well defined and administered in accordance with the agreed scope, budget and schedule while providing a high level of customer service. Experience & Educational Requirements Preference will be given to candidates with relevant education in Engineering or a related field, or a combination of education and experience suitable to the position Considerable previous work experience in technical writing and the production of documentation. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Proficient at the advanced level in the use of MS Office Products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook and in the use of Adobe Acrobat Products. Demonstrated ability to develop accurate and comprehensible technical documentation. Proven ability to review material/information consistently and thoroughly, ensuring high standards of accuracy and completeness, with attention to detail. Excellent written communication skills with proficiency in grammar, spelling and simple language use. Effective communication, interpersonal and customer relation skills. Proven analytical, problem solving and decision making skills. Flexible, adaptable and able to work effectively in a constantly changing environment. Considerable knowledge of marine, petroleum industry and control systems technology. Considerable knowledge of technical writing techniques and tools, and of document design principles.
