Job Purpose (Job Summary): The primary role of this position is to manage a team of 4-6 people in the support of Invesco’s Investment Applications. This person must possess strong technical, people management, communication, and critical thinking skills. It is a position that is important and unique in that it faces both internal business clients and technology professionals assisting with implementing tools and processes to achieve viable, appropriate, and sometimes market leading solutions to business problems. Key Responsibilities / Duties:  Lead, develop, and motivate staff through regular mentoring, training, and communication  Recruit, train, supervise, and conduct performance reviews for staff  Lead continuous improvement opportunities for team processes and procedures  Represent the IT Services Department at team meetings and/or planning sessions  Execute support requests and prepare communication to support teams  This includes ensuring the timely involvement of technical support or other appropriate IT staff as required  Provide client support for on call, after hours, weekends, and public holidays when required  Participate in troubleshooting efforts with the team or as an individual  Resolve technical issues by using logical, systematic and sequential reasoning  Escalate issues and remediation steps effectively and in a timely manner  Provide technical support for projects and existing systems in cooperation with other team members including issue identification, log review, job flow dependencies and resolution  Ensure all solutions are accompanied by appropriate system documentation that meets internal standards Work Experience / Knowledge:  Minimum of 8 years’ experience working in an Information Technology environment  Exceptional troubleshooting and problem solving skills and strong batch analysis skills  Ability to establish priorities, to meet deadlines, and to concentrate on detailed information in a fast-paced demanding work environment  Hands-on experience on SQL, Informatica and OBIEE are required  Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact and communicate in person, over the phone, via teleconference and via email throughout the organization with a variety of individuals at all technical levels is required  Strong Work ethic is required  Experience with software development lifecycle preferred  Experience working in the financial services industry is preferred  A plus if experienced with ITIL, Agile or Lean IT principles  Experience analyzing business or technical problems and proposing and implementing solutions Skills / Other Personal Attributes Required:  2 to 3 years in Production/Operations Support  Must have exceptional ability in diagnosing and solving information system problems while maintaining professionalism and courtesy  Must have the ability to execute on deliverables, establish priorities, meet deadlines and concentrate on detailed information in a fast-paced, demanding work environment  Must be able to execute assignments creatively with moderate direction  The ability to work effectively and foster a strong team environment  Experience leading people in a functional role, leading in a formal role strongly desired but not required, ideally with experience of: Multi-location teams, Variety of technical/experience levels, Team sizes of 3 to 7 people Formal Education: (minimum requirement to perform job duties)  Bachelor degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field is preferred or commensurate relevant work experience Working Conditions:  Normally works a regular schedule of hours, however hours may vary depending upon the project or assignment  Hours may include evenings and/or weekends, public holidays and may include 24 hour a day on call support by pager and/or cell phone  Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally.
